Yicel M. ValdezSocial MediaMy name is Yicel Valdez I am currently a senior in the Critical Design and Gaming School. Some of my hobbies include being a cheerleader for our mighty hawks to hanging out with my friends. I chose the gaming school because I thought it would a great opportunity for me to try something out of my comfort zone. Now that I'm a senior and have been in C:/DAGS for almost 4 years I most definitely don't regret my decision. Through C:/DAGS I got the opportunity to learn how to use Unity to create video games and MAYA which helped me learn how the animated characters from all the PIXAR movies I watched growing up were created. My plans after high school include attending a four year University and majoring in Engineering, Civil Engineering to be exact. I chose this career pathway because I knew since a very young age that I wanted to be something different, something that no one expected from a girl that looks like me. I want to break the image stereotype of how a smart women should look like. I want to be the example for other young women that you can be book smart and still enjoy doing feminine stuff like shopping. To teach the society we live in today that smart does not come with a certain sex or race.
